Abstract:
To regulate the current in grid connected power converters mostly proportional integral (PI) controller in synchronous reference frame are used. To improve their known drawbacks such as complexity of control structure because of the dq-transformation and the poor behavior concerning low order harmonics compensation, proportional resonant (PR) controller gained a large popularity. This paper describes the differences between using PI-controller and PR-controller in a 2MW grid connected power converter for wind turbines. The control theory of PR filters and implementing them as delta based infinite impulse response (IIR) filters in a fixed-point microcontroller is presented. Abstract:
This paper deals with an integrated full power test bench for the grid side of a wind power converter. The speciality is the high side voltage and current measurement to use the stray inductance as an additional filter element. Abstract:
Motor control gets more and more common in fields where it was not applicable a few years ago. The prizes for computing power due to higher integration of the power electronics are going down. Because of this, brush-less DC and permanent magnet synchronous machines capture new markets and replace simple grid connected induction machines. The rising standards for electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions make a power factor correction (PFC) in a lot of applications necessary. In addition a PFC offers some advantages because of the DC bus regulation. In this paper an inverter with a particularly low prize and a high performance is presented. A software based PFC is integrated into the motor control circuit and a low cost absolute position encoder has been developed. In addition some synergetic effect between motor control and PFC will be shown. The experimental results show the feasibility of the integration of a field orientated control with an integrated PFC in one low cost microcontroller. - 2.R. Wegener, S. Gruber, K. Nötzold, F. Abstract:
This paper deals with the development of a tubular permanent magnet linear drive with radial magnetized armature and discrete wound coils mounted on a star-shaped stator part. The rated force of the developed machine is 500 N per segment. This presented particular design results in a very economic product because all primary parts, except of the permanent magnets and coils, are made of standard non-laminated steel and are optimized for easy production and assembly. The control of this machine with a specially built low cost linear sensor based on the Hall-effect is also presented.
