12th EM Summer School 2020 (07 to 11 September)
The EM Summer School is going into the 12th round in 2020.
We are pleased to host the 12th EM Summer School on "Electromagnetic Calculations" again this year in cooperation with the company CADFEM as well as the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences. Due to the current pandemic, the summer school will be held at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences this year. The approval to hold the event in compliance with the overall hygiene concept of the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences in the current valid version is available and can be viewed here: 134kB
The aim of the annual event for PhD students is to provide basic and advanced knowledge in the field of electromagnetic simulation. The participants are given the opportunity to present their solutions to problems and to put unsolved problems up for discussion.
The main topics this year are:
- Fundamentals of the calculation of electromagnetic fields with their potential formulations,
- Application of the programs Ansys Electronics Desktop and Ansys Workbench for solving field problems,
- Generation of reduced order models from field simulation for use in system simulation,
- Realization of field and system coupling for the description of mechatronic systems.
- Impedance matrices and local losses in the winding head, magnetic submodeling to investigate stray field effects.
Depending on your interests, optional topics can be taken up such as:
- Design of electrical machines with motor CAD,
- Electrical - thermal coupled calculations of power semiconductors on printed circuit boards,
- Methods for the calculation of winding head impedances of hairpin windings.
For the participation in the summer school in Flensburg a cost contribution at a value of 100.-€ is raised.
The participation in the event will be decided by the chronological order of the online registrations.
Further information about accommodation in Flensburg, you will find here in the next weeks!
