18th EM Early Summer School 2026
09.03. - 13.03.2026 in Wuppertal
The EM Early Summer School is entering its 18th round in 2026.
We, the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences and the University of Wuppertal, are pleased to be organising the EM Summer School on "Electromagnetic Calculations" again this year in cooperation with the company CADFEM.
As every year, we want to organise an interesting and instructive offer in close correspondence with CADFEM.
For further information please see our flyer.
The main topics are
- Basics of the calculation of electromagnetic fields with their potential formulations
- Application of the programmes ANSYS Electronics Desktop and ANSYS Workbench to solve field problems
- The rotating electrical machine in ANSYS Workbench
- Generation of conservative and causal reduced order models from the field simulation for use in the system simulation
- Realisation of field and system coupling for the description of mechatronic systems
- Application of modal superposition in the field of electromagnetic calculation using the example of current density modes for the fast calculation of transient eddy current phenomena in system simulation
The complete programme overview of the week can be found here.
As we are always open to suggestions and questions from participants, we ask you to describe the topic and status of your dissertation, your experience in the field of electromagnetic simulations, your interest in optional topics and your expectations of the EM Summer School when you register.
The completion of a given exercise should help you decide whether to participate in the introductory day. You can find the exercises here.
Registration will be available here from mid-January.
Your contact person at the chair, Mr Sebastian Gruber, will be happy to answer any questions you may have:
