BOB Solingen - With the battery trolleybus (BOB) and the intelligent charging infrastructure to emission-free public transport
The main objective of the project is to create the necessary technical and economic basis for an almost complete electrification of local public transport (LPT) in a large city and its supply from renewable energy sources. The main objective of this subproject is therefore the research and development of the necessary technical systems, components and control and regulation approaches.The core of the project is the battery trolleybus (BOB) and the infrastructure necessary for the operation of many BOB.
The Chair of Electrical Machines and Drives will receive funding of 2,406,491 euros from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure as part of the project over a period of five years. The total funding of the Federal Ministry for the project amounts to 15 million euros.
