AbstractThis paper deals with the design process of a linear actuator with an integrated hydraulic system which produces a very high force in a short swing. The design is optimized for low cost which results in a simple production and assembly with no laminations and cheap steel components. The actuator is designed for different actuation strokes (up to 320 mm) and actuating forces (up to 9000 N)[1]
