AbstractThis paper demonstrates real-time (i.e. measurement based) prediction methods for the steady state temperature of circuit components: During thermal run-up, momentary temperature values and slope are analysed to calculate an approximation of the temperature that will be reached at the end of thermal run-up. This reduces the time consumption for optimisation and other tasks requiring parameter variations as a full thermal run-up only needs to be performed for the determined optimum or selected characteristic operating points.
